How to create a R.I.N. Letter for Service Ontario (to request a Registrant Identification Number from Service Ontario / Ministry of Transportation

What is a R.I.N.?

In Ontario, a R.I.N. aka RIN or Registrant Identification Number is a unique 9 digit number that is issued by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (usually through a Service Ontario location) which is used to register vehicles in the name of a business or non-human entity.

How do I obtain a R.I.N.?


One thing that is usually required for a business to obtain a RIN number is a R.I.N. Letter. This is a type of document called a Statutory Declaration (similar to an affidavit) where you provide necessary information about your document in writing and declare before either a Notary Pub One thing that is typically required in order to obtain a R.I.N. is a R.I.N. Letter that has been signed in front of a Commissioner for Taking Affidavits or a Notary Public. Once signed and commissioned, your R.I.N.
